Horse-riding Centre Hotel & Restaurant ‘Trzy Podkowy’ (‘Three Horseshoes’) in Biskupiec was established in 2007, which was a result of our love to horses and horse-riding.
The hotel can also serve as a base-camp for those who enjoy sightseeing. We truly recommend three nearby towns (within 30 minute drive): Iława, Ostróda and Brodnica.
Iława is famous for its annual musical festivals: Old Jazz Meeting ‘Złota Tarka’ and Fama Rock Festival for rock lovers.
Sailing and water-sports fans will be delighted to explore Jeziorak lake, the longest Polish lake with the biggest inland island Wielka Żuława (The Great Żulawa).
Ostróda – a town surrounded by nine (!) lakes. In summer the town invites you to Reggae Festival. Most of the events take place by Drwęckie lake, with charming cafes alongside.
30 minutes drive south from our hotel you will find Brodnica – the capital of this lake region.
Brodnica is a town with many historic buildings. Admirers of Gothic will definitely find some attractive landmarks: Mazurska Tower, Chełmińska Gate, Parish Church and 14th century Town Hall ruins.
A 50-metre Teutonic Knights’ Tower, which overlooks the town, is a perfect viewing tower. From there, you will have a rare opportunity to see the only triangular ‘market square’ in Poland.
Brodnica is crossed by Drwęca River – one of the cleanest Polish rivers, the biggest ichthyologic sanctuary and kayakers’ favourite route. Exceptional landscapes and natural wonders resulted in the area being transformed into Brodnicki Park Krajobrazowy (Brodnica Landscape Park). There are 58 lakes within the district.
Brodnica boasts many annual cultural events like: Lato na Pojezierzu Brodnickim (Summer in Brodnica Lake District), Międzynarodowy Jarmark Ekologiczny (International Eco Fair), Impresje Orkiestr Dętych (Brass Bands Impressions), Międzynarodowy Festiwal Chórów (International Choirs Festival).
